Serving children, adolescents, families, individuals, and couples

In-Person & Virtual Sessions

I believe therapy is a collaborative process. My goal is to create a warm, safe, and respectful environment where we can identify and make progress toward your therapy goals.

About

I specialize in working with children age 5+, adolescents and their families. Together, we’ll create a plan to navigate family conflict, school performance issues, social difficulties (peer conflict, bullying and social skills), divorce, depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, mood dysregulation and behavioral difficulties.

I also participate in the Joint Admissions Testing Program (JATP), which helps in the admission process for families applying to private schools in metro Atlanta.

Younger clients can expect to participate in therapy through an expressive arts and play based approach. I’ll use developmentally appropriate art and play activities to communicate with your child, help them process the stressors in their lives and teach them healthy coping habits.

I believe it’s important to include the family when working with children and adolescents. In fact, making changes within the family system is often the foundation of therapeutic progress. Family therapy centers on improving family communication and relationships, assisting parents in coping with their child’s emotional or behavioral challenges and building healthy boundaries, expectations and family roles.

For individuals and couples, sessions focus on empowering you to move through life’s struggles with insight, self-awareness, grounded decision-making skills and healthy coping resources. Therapeutic issues may include topics such as depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationships, self-esteem and self-worth, communication, marital/relationship discord and life transitions.

I am able to provide telepsychology services to clients in PSYPACT participating states, under the authority of PSYPACT (Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact).

In addition to therapy, I am experienced in conducting psychological and psychoeducational evaluations. These evaluations are a tool for identifying cognitive and academic skills, assessing for learning disabilities and developmental delays and obtaining information about a client’s mental health. Evaluations can yield a wealth of information to help with treatment and educational planning as well as identifying appropriate interventions.

I grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and moved to Georgia for college. Like many people, I fell in love with the climate here and made Atlanta my home. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and nurturing my relationships. I also love traveling, cooking, playing with my dogs, doing puzzles and spending time outside - walking, working in my yard, swimming and soaking up the sunshine.

I look forward to working with you to create your happiest, most fulfilling life!
